People are angry about a sign that a KFC store put on their doors. The restaurant is not willing to remove it.

Some of you might be familiar with the discount for veterans. People who have been in the military can get special deals and lower prices at lots of shops and eateries. Being in the military comes with certain benefits when you serve your country.

Even though they are not extravagant, these discounts are a small way to show gratitude. A custom linked to specific companies.

A KFC restaurant in Ohio also joined in recently. After the store put up the sign, it received many responses online.

Normally, regardless of the time or day, the store's rule was to let anyone in uniform eat for free. The initial idea was to give a lower price on chicken as a way to thank local police officers. In the end, this new policy was going to get more attention on the internet.

A lot of conversations started when this picture was shared on a Facebook page named Ohio Going Blue.

Even though the post received more than 10,000 likes and 6000 shares, there were different opinions about it.

Commentators questioned if it was needed to provide this offer to the police. Other comments showed that as an officer, they would rather not receive special treatment and would actually pay for it themselves. Opinions from people who manage Facebook pages:

"This is a happy message, but some of you may not understand the whole situation." As a police officer, I don't expect to get anything for free when I'm in uniform or not. There are other officers who feel the same way. We don't like being treated differently. The post is about KFC showing appreciation for the police. To those who said that we should also recognize other emergency workers. What is my response? "Definitely."

The sign will stay up in the store even though it has received a lot of attention from the media.

This sign is a way to show our gratitude to the officers who risk their lives for us.
